The autumn sun casts long shadows through the trees that grow atop the earthen mound. From the stone-lined doorway water cascades into a still pool below. Six light-filled vessels float on the surface of the pool as a pair of otters survey the scene. We shall meet Otter again before the festival of Samhain.

From deep within the dark and earthy mound, the water rises and flows into the cool autumn air, tumbling down into the pool below where the water becomes one. So we begin to unearth deep within our own inner darkness, drawing long-buried emotions up and out into the light. In this way, we begin to heal. We allow our buried parts to float in the light – expose them to light and air, flip them in our hands like washed pebbles, accept them for what they really are, and throw them back into the water, where they merge and reunite with all else that has flowed before.
