The mother of development and strong stamina
I. Analyze and describe Queen of Disks Thoth Tarot
Queen sits on the desert edge on the pineapple-shaped throne. She was excited to see how the river in the background flowed so that the wasteland became fertile. Symbolically, this creates a miniature image of the divine life flowing in human veins as a harmonious creative force, connecting time and space; it can be blocked and diverted, but never stopped and destroyed. The desert itself represents deprivation, inadequacy, frustration, and loneliness; on the other hand, an oasis with its rich plant life illustrates the maturity of reproduction and life.
The woman in the foreground represents the mother of strong development and endurance because she is the mother associated with the principle of life, even though the father’s sperm is a natural necessity. The conceived woman symbolizes “the desire for shaping itself” and “God loves himself. He also found in other creatures the same joys he found in himself, not as a creature, but as God”(Master Eckhart). The longing for sacredness is the basis of the longing for a mother of chastity, connected to the physical image of the mother as the first formation of God. This principle is personified by Mother of Disks, the embodiment of the Great Goddess in human form. Her armor that has scales or small coins emphasized her struggle for material as well as the guarantee of material surrounding her.
On the sphere in front of her, there is the goddess Amalthea, another image of the Great Mother and the goat who fed Zeus in Greek mythology. The motif of horny goat was expanded through the image of the giant curved horns on her helmet and described the Queen as a strong instinctive woman, as a force that produced life and at the same time, there are still strong sources of sexual energy that – in a symbolic way – destroy people so that they can be born again – as Crowley said, so “the old King soon returned into a young Knight”.
The staff in her right hand attached a crystal block with a three-dimensional six-star, the symbol of the trio of spirituality and entwined material. In her left hand, she held a sphere or a three-dimensional disk that belonged to her. With overlapping circles, it describes the natural cycles (period, seasons, etc) as a symbol of eternity as well as aspects of the mundane world.
The card symbolizes the water aspect of the earth, corresponding to Demeter, the Greek Goddess of agriculture and fertility support. We see ourselves in this world, Mother Earth, the forms of life, or in the source of nourishment and warmth. Giant horns are also a sign of aggressive instincts, a female hunter’s attribute, and the Artemis symbol. This card, therefore, also brought in aspects of the Goddess of farming and hunting, similar to the image of Artemis with many extra breasts in Ephesos, combining both aspects of herself.
II. Interpretation of the Queen of Disks Thoth Tarot
This card can represent people, in any field of life, but it can also be an experience in the field that corresponds in question.
Mother Earth represents a mature woman with a lot of experience in life, who is very practical and knows how to protect what is entrusted to her. She embodies vitality and creativity, as well as understanding to set boundaries and assert herself. Patience, sensibility, and trustworthiness are her essential features.
2. Overview of the Queen of Disks Thoth Tarot
This card represents a good time, success in daily life, development, and expansion of previously forgotten parts. It also represents perseverance and consistency in achieving achievements and goals. Our assurance of growth and our material wealth increase during the period this card implies.
Deep down in our souls, it is important to try our best to develop abandoned skills. At the moment, the time spent on creativity was at our hands, however, during that time, perseverance and persistence were among the most important qualities. On the other hand, we will eventually realize that we experience sudden success but are only temporary.
In terms of careers, the waters of life (water of the earth) mean that we initially ensure what we have achieved so that we can wait for new tasks, new fields, and the new land in the broadest sense of the word, which we will discover consistently. The fertility associated with this card may also be directly related to the profession, whether in agriculture, forestry, gardening, or, in a symbolic sense, it belongs to the art field.
In terms of love and relationships, Mother of Material is an “actual” example through which we recognize, welcome, and understand where we have come and what we have achieved. Thereby, she shows the stages in which intimacy will develop, and we will form a deep sense of security and safety. With this as a foundation, we can explore new areas. It is possible that we discover and develop aspects of an existing relationship that we have not let it grow to the fullest, or start an independent situation in which we have an essential step towards a partnership. In both cases, there will be a constant desire for a family (larger).
